South Africa Beat India by 76 Runs – Miller Masterclass Powers Clinical Win

South Africa delivered a commanding all-round performance to defeat India by 76 runs in the 43rd Match of Super 8, Group 1 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. A brilliant counter-attacking knock from David Miller followed by a dominant bowling display helped South Africa register one of their biggest wins of the tournament.

South Africa Innings – Miller and Stubbs Rescue After Early Collapse

Batting first, South Africa posted 187/7 in 20 overs despite a shaky start.

The Proteas were reduced to 20/3 in the powerplay after early strikes from India’s pace attack. However, David Miller steadied the innings with a powerful 63 off 35 balls, playing aggressive strokes once he got set. Dewald Brevis contributed a vital 45, while Tristan Stubbs added an unbeaten 44 to provide a late flourish.

The middle-order partnership shifted the momentum completely, allowing South Africa to recover strongly and post a challenging total on a good batting surface.

India Chase – Top Order Collapse Ends Resistance

Chasing 188, India never recovered from early setbacks.

The top order collapsed inside the powerplay, putting immediate pressure on the middle order. Shivam Dube fought with a determined 42, and Hardik Pandya tried to counterattack, but wickets continued to fall at regular intervals.

South Africa’s bowling unit executed their plans perfectly, combining pace and spin effectively. India were eventually bowled out for 111 in 18.5 overs, falling well short of the target.
